WCEF2025 Accelerator Session: From ideas to impact – how accelerator programmes foster innovation
Accelerator programmes around the world are supporting innovative solutions on the ground. This session will present practical lessons from two accelerator programmes: Innovate2PREVENT by the PREVENT Waste Alliance & Yunus Environment Hub and Towards Zero Waste by GIZ & BambuUp in Viet Nam. These programmes support innovators in plastics, e-waste, organic waste and digitalisation to develop and scale their circular business approaches.

In this WCEF2025 Accelerator Session, a range of innovators will share their solutions, real-world challenges, actionable insights and needs to scale. Together with members of the PREVENT Waste Alliance, the innovators will engage with you to co-create strategies for impactful circular solutions in four breakout sessions focussing on:
- Reuse, refurbishment and repair of e-waste with Inter Ethiopia: Reducing e-waste and creating jobs through Circular Solar Kiosks in refugee camps in Ethiopia
- Upstream solutions to plastic pollution with Why Waste Wednesdays & Turn Green: Reducing plastics with a “Borrow a Bag” program in India & replacing plastics with biodegradable materials in Viet Nam
- Digital solutions for a circular economy with Center for Competitive Skills: Creating a circular economy platform in Albania.
- Valorising agricultural waste with Net Zero Pallet & Lemit Foods: Offering a new generation of pallets made from agricultural waste & turning young jackfruits, an agricultural by-product, into plant-based meat alternatives in Viet Nam
